i thought it wasnt stable and that it just plain didnt work. until someone in another forum said he had a a large template using VEP. i already sent support an email but wanted to post here to see if anyone had a similar issue.
i can have one instance of VEP in logic with the server in a clone pc and it works fine. but if i want to load another instance (16 more) then something wierd happens. as soon as i tried to open the 1st instance or another one itll crash logic AND the clone/slave PC.
here is my system and detailed info. this problem happened before on leopard and now on snow leopard. so maybe its the slave pc's fault (?)
so same problem different setup
setup now:
mac pro late 2009, 2.66ghz w 16gb ram. with snow leopard (10.6.3). very stable system.
slave: clone pc asus ptk 6 with windows 7 and 8gb of ram. with intel quad core 2 duo q6600.
connected via cross over ethernet cable.
before setup:
same hardware only difference is leopard. 10.5.9
added info: i use a full loaded (8gb ram) template with bidule using midioverlan and an maudio lightbridge and have not have a problem.
very stable. using kontakt 3.5 mostly. once instance of play.
problem:
i load a multi inst 16 channels and load the VEP plugin in logic 64bit (did it also with 32bit leopard/snowleopard), it connects to the W7 PC and opens an instance of VEP (server) and i load kontakt and load some lass strings.. all is good. it works. 16 channels of heaven. :)
now, i want more.. so i create another multi in logic of another 16 multi and load the VEP plugin and it opens another VEP server instance in the PC and load some samples..
when i go back and forth between those 2 plugin instances in logic.. (or more instances) logic freezes and i have to force quite. right at the same time the server (windows 7 pc ) freezes and i have to hard restart it.
