Curious if anyone got 5436 to run PLAY the way 4686 does? I havent had any problems with 4686 running PLAY at all. Not sure if I should update. I tried the previous build to 5436 and got a white gui on PLAY. Also they are releasing PLAY 2 soon so not sure if that will run on the new build or make any difference
thanks

Will 5436 run PLAY?

I use 4881 and it works (Windows 7, cubase 5 64 bit) but if I try to create an instance from the sequencer by clicking localhost new, it hangs. It works every time if I create it in the VE Pro server (by clicking Add), add PLAY and then connect to it. I'm also curious to see if it will work with PLAY 2.0 and PLAY Pro, not to mention Hollywood Strings... What I don't get is that VE Pro makes the CPU work constantly, regardless of whether it's receiving notes or not. Very annoying. Doesn't happen to PLAY directly inside Cubase. Do you have that problem?

Yes I notice that the cpu is always running on my Slave machines. The Windows Task Manager on one of the Slaves usually shows up to 15% when idle. But I always thought this was due to the type of plugins that were used (ones with effects)like Omnisphere. \ The cpu on my other machine which runs plugins witout fx shows much less cpu when idle. On my Host (Sonar) no additional CPU usage which is great. It just ads 1% for every VST I add but thats to be expected. Havent been able to get Play to work w 4881 (that blank white GIU shows up) but its working great so far in 4886. I too will be getting Hollywood strings and a separate computer just to run it. To Vienna Ens Pro will be essential for that to work.
