  • Opinion about Convolution and Reverb

I tried out a lot of things the last days and I need some second opinions:

As always on a budget, I am using Voxengo Pristine Space. But the available IR-files on the net are rather downturning,. The best I have comes from Echochamber, and I love the 960-files, but these are not "Room-Files".

Would buying Altiverb with their IRs make a difference? Or ist it just me who first needs to master PS before moving on? I know that living is learning, and buying something often don't help. Is it the quality of the free IR files or is Altiverb (or VSL Conv) just better? I understand that Convolution itself is the same algorithm in most of the IR programms.

TC VSS3: I activated the demo on my powercore, but the preset results where mediocre at best (in my personal ears). I was thinking about buying it, but if this is what you get out of the box, than I pass on this one. Any experience, how VSS fits into the master mix of VSL? Again, is it the art of finetuning and mastering?  Or is it in the product?

I am still so impressed with MIR, but this is out of reach.

Personal opinions are more than welcome

    cheers hs

  • Holgmeister - ever thought about the Convolution Reverb that is part of the Vienna Suite package?

There's a 30 days time-limited demo available if you want to test it.

    Kind regards,

  •  Hi Dietz,

thanks for the response. Unfortunately, I used the trial already up when it came out. - and at this time, I was only looking at panning, eq and compression.

Actually, it sounded great and fitted well into VE  - but I never tested Convolution . Should have, well..

  • You could try to get in contact with our support - _maybe_ they can do something for you, in that case. :-) At least, a friendly inquiry never hurts.
