    I have to write a Walzer a la J. Strauss. I own MIR and   I would like to put all the intruments in the right place.  Watching some videos from the first of January concerts the orchestra layout appears no-standard.

    Anybody has a scheme or a sketch?

    Sergino, the New Years Concert takes place in the Vienna Musikverein (not the Vienna Konzerthaus). This place has a unique and a bit strange acoustic signature. As sweet as it sounds during more quiet passages, conductors have to take care for the fact that the room gets quite splashy and shrill during loud parts. That said, there is not one seating plan for all New Years Concerts - quite on the contrary.

    IOW - the seating plan you use should be the one that sounds most convincing in your Venue of choice ;-)
