  • Problem with VE Pro and Korg Legacy Digital

On a Mac Pro slave machine. I can get the plug in to come up and play fine in a 32 bit instance. The problem is, when I try to load anything into the instrument, It crashes the plug in completely. I'm trying to import sysex data into the user card areas in the plug in, but this happens with ANY load command. I tried it in stand-alone mode and it worked fine.. I thought I could do that and save it as the default so that it would come up on the plug in in VEP and I wouldn't have to load anything (just the programs already inside the VI, which works fine), but no joy. Once I get the user programs imported in, it will work fine. I don't have any other host on the slave to try in VEP's place. I suppose I could move it back over to the main machine and fix it all in the sequencer (DP) because it all seems to work fine there, but it's a BIG hassle, will take a lot of time just to try it, so I thought I would see if there is a fix for this here first.

The Korg Legacy  is one of the VI's stated as being supported so if this problem is not unique to my system, at least I have made you guys aware of it.

I'm using the latest VEP (4881?) and Snow Leopard on a Mac Pro. Latest Korg software also.

  • Could you send a crash report to support? Thanks.

  • Oops, sorry Karel,

I should have said that the Korg Legacy plug in freezes, not crashes- that is, once I select load or import, it doesn't do anything, and then there is no control over the plug in with the mouse. No parameters, no menus, no actions of any kind. I can delete it from VEP with the delete key, reload it, and it works again.

I did not check to see if there is still MIDI/audio with the plug in, as I was using the mouse on the little keyboard on the GUI to check that. But just to be sure, I'll send MIDI over the system from a controller and report back...

  • This bug has been fixed for the upcoming update. Thanks for reporting.

  • That's excellent, thanks Karel!

FWIW, I was able to get my sounds to work by loading them on my other machine, with DP as the host, making that the default plug in load, then copying that default file to the slave machine and replacing. Now in VEP, all those sounds load up with the plug in, and all is well!

  • Sounds like a nightmare. The update should be released within the next couple of days.

  • Well, not too bad, not a nightmare.. Just a little inconvenient, time-wise.

It's great though, that you guys were able to fix it before the next update- you're really listening, thanks!

    Fantastic software, thank you!

  • Hi Karel, I am having lots of issues with Korg Legacy Analog Edition on VE Pro 4.0 (build 4881) - running on a Windows 7 i7 4-core. After loading any plug in the collection (MonoPoly, Polysix, MS20, Legacy cell) after hitting a few notes, I either get Audio hangs, or engine shutdowns (Sometimes toggling the audio engine off/on resets things, sometimes the engine can not restart - and I have to reboot my system). None of the same problems happen when running the standalone versions on the same system. I haven't tried a different VST host just yet. Any ideas? Thanks, Regards, Kevin L

  • I should mention, related to my problems (above), I've tried increasing buffer sizes and that had no effect. Thanks, Regards, Kevin L

  • I'm pretty sure that this is a VE-Pro problem. I just verified that the same freezes happen with Korg Legacy Analog on A MacPro as well. BTW, I'm running the latest version of Korg Legacy Analog (v 1.2.3). Same plugs are running fine in Main Stage (host) on the Mac Thanks, Kevin L
