Hi everyone,
I'm considering buying the Vienna Suite, but I'm not sure if my notebook can handle it.
At the moment I'm using a Samsung R70-Despina with Intel Duo Core@2Ghz and 4 GB RAM under Windows Vista 32bit. I just bought a 4 GB RAM Kit from Kingston 3 month ago. Of course Vista32 can only handle 3,2 GM RAM. Unfortunately cubase 5.1 crashes when I load more than 2GB of samples. It even crashes when I try to load a 1.5 GB project, cause it peaks during the loading process to 1.7 GB and then crashes. Is this normal? I hoped to handle at least 2 GB of samples with the new RAM. Could I have better results with an upgrade to Windows7 with 64bit? Any advice?
So I'm unsure whether my notebook could handle the vienna suite in addition to the samples. When I understand things correctly, than the vienna suite reverb plugins would need RAM, while the exciter, EQ and compressor would need CPU power in the first place, right?
Could my notebook handle like at least 2 reverb depth and an exciter, an EQ and compression on - let's say - 24 instrument tracks?
Thanks for your advice!
Sabine
