Hi. I a created a very simple matrix in Vienna Instruments made up of 2 patches - legato solo vln and portamento solo vln with a keyswitch (c, c#) controller to switch between the two. This works fine, but when I open Vienna in Sonar and use this matrix, I can switch between the 2 articulations fine, but this change between the articulations is not saved in Sonar. In other words, when I am recording the vln part, it switches with no problems, but when I play it back in Sonar there is only one articulation. Please help. Thanks.

Open the Piano Roll View in Sonar and make sure you see the keyswitches (c and c#) which you recorded in there. If you're pressing the keyswitches while in recording to change articulations (patches), they should be recording and visible in the piano roll view.
Another thought.....could your keyboard controller accidentally be set up with different zones and perhaps one zone is not having it's data recorded?

Thanks to everyone for the replies! I checked the midi file and my keyswitch was recorded. I recorded the part which started with a portamento patch, hit the keyswitch and changed to a legato patch. What I didn't realize, because the portamento patch sounded without hitting a keyswitch, was that I needed to begin the part by hitting the keyswitch for the portamento patch anyway and then hit the other keyswitch to change to the legato patch. This worked fine when I played back the part in Sonar. So, apparently a rookie mistake on my part. Best, Pat M
