  • VEP strange launch behaviour

Mac OS  10.6.2: When I launch both the 32 and 64 bit VE´s at the same time, only one of them opens its server window. With the other one I have to click its dock icon and quit the application from its menue. On "quit" the missing server window opens and everythings fine.

This happens consistently on both MacPros running 10.6.2.

    All the best,

    Jochen

  • I experienced this behavior as well, but was able to fix it by (1) uninstalling completely (including manually wiping the VE stuff related in Library/Application Support and User/Library/Preferences), (2) restarting the system, and (3) reinstalling the latest VE. I also noticed that this behavior can sometimes occur if you launch the servers very quickly after a reboot. Hope this helps.

  • Please wait a few seconds after you´ve launched the first VE Pro server, that should fix it.

    Best,

    Maya

  • I had this working perfectly for about a week then again it popped up on all my systems at once? Any way to make sure that this doesn't happen? That was on a Mac pro running 10.5.8 and a G5 running 10.5.8. b ut each was running only one instance of 32 bit server. The protools crashed but not sure how that might have affected it. I have the metaframe that I always use in the startup items so that when my composer sits down to work, its all ready to go. -b

  • This is a known bug that has been fixed for the next release. Sorry about that.

  • thanks god
