Vienna sound library and sibelius question...
I am trying to integrate the vienna sounds into sibelius. Im doing it on behalf of a friend so therefore im not familiar with the settings of sibelius. At the moment all I want to know is why I cant find the sounds sets for sibelius 6 as stated on this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdykFlA-Drs In fact, do I even need it as the sibelius version im going to set up is the latest one sibelius 6. Apparently its already installed. If that is the case, then from what part of the video do I need to watch to set up? Any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks Odysseas

Hello Odysseas!
The sound sets for the Special Edition and the Special Edition PLUS already come with Sibelius 6. The sound sets for our other collections can be downloaded from our User Area. You have to be logged in for that.
http://vsl.co.at/en/68/141/460/576/655.htmYou will also find the "Optimizing Sibelius Playback" manual there, where all things are explained in detail.
Best regards,
Andi

Hello, its Odysseas again. I have tried to set up the sounds but have come across a problem. When I get to part where I have to select the active device in playback, there is nothing there! It only has "Microsoft GS wavetable synth" and "GM Module" and "sibelius player." I went to the sounds folder of sibelius 6 and there is a whole list of sounds sets, but none of these appear on the active devices! Please help! Odysseas

Sorry, I didnt make it clear that it is the VST "Vienna Ensemble" that is not present. Supposedly its supposed to be already there with sibelius 6 but unfortunately its not...

Sorry once again, I must be driving you mad, I found the solution to my problem, it was becuase i didnt Install the vienna ensemble VST plugin into the sibelius VST plugins folder. I hope this is right... Initially i placed the Vienna instruments and vienna ensemble VST plugin into a folder i created in program files. I then copied the Ensemble plugin into the sibelius folder, do i need to delete the original file in its source location? Or will it still work? Sorry for so many questions but I an desperate to get this to work Thank you Odysseas

Hello Odysseas!
I would leave the Vienna Ensemble plugin, where you have installed it. You can tell Sibelius, where it has to look for VST plugins in the Playback Devices/Audio Engine Options window.
Please select the appropriate sound set after you have activated Vienna Ensemble.
Best,
Andi
