SETTING SUSTAIN to STACCATO (VICE-VERSA) in the CONTROL EDIT

Hi... Andi or Paul, i'm using SIbelius 6... everything goes fine... except that 1A cell and 2A cell in my violin 2 does not shift very well to follow what articulation is written in the notation. say, i've written the first melodic fragment in sustain, and next fragment is in staccato, followed by sustain... Vienna Ensemble doesn't seem to follow the articulation. please help me... is there a way to set or adjust or assign 'sustain' to 1A and 'staccato' to 2A or any articulation i want for either of the cell? please help me... i'm notating everything in my score or music... what does the RIGHT WINDOW mean? H-SPAN, V-SPAN, CC1, A/B SELECT, etc... please refer me to a manual of these things or just teach me please right away what to do... thanks so much in advance... i'm new here. mine is a MacBook PRO 8G RAM; 3.06 Ghz processor. 350G HD
