  • Install DVD Problem

After a hard drive crash, I've had to reinstall the VI Percussion library to a new drive. It's been years since I had to install anything from Vienna, and the discs were stored safely.

I went to install on my Mac Pro, and when it asked for DISC 2, I inserted the disc, but it continued to ask for Disc 2. Find it hard to believe that suddenly the disc is bad, since I had the files originally installed fine from this same disc. Any way around this?

    Thanks

    Tom

    Mac Pro OS 10.5.8

  •  you can try to copy the content of all your DVDs to a folder on your harddisk and run the installer from there ...

two possible resons why it doesn't work now i could think of:

    - your drive gets to hot during the install process and is loosing track on DVD2 (try to pause a while after DVD1)

    - quality of the laser in your drive dropped over the years and does'n read reliably now (if available use a newer drive on another computer, even mounted over network would work)
