  • Vienna Key/Installation-Finale 2010-Mac OSX-Tiger

I just installed Vienna Special Edition & Special Edition Plus using the installation video carefully and everything looked good. Everything is registered and activated. What an excellent guide to installation. However, the red light stays on the Vienna Key in the USB port (yes, it was installed throughout installation as required). Does it change to green indicating that all systems are 'go"? I'm using a CME UF80 for input. Unlike the Garritan sounds with Finale, the VI instruments are not showing up for selection. When I open Finale, VSL Instruments shows up in the plug-ins section, and I see notes appear on the staves while entering them in real-time. But, no sounds at all and no opportunity to select the individual instruments. Does anyone know the solution(s) to my problem? Is the solution available already somewhere? Is the Vienna Key preventing anything from happening? What does one do when the Key has been registered & accepted, but still doesn't work? Hoping for answers. Thanks.

  • Hello Saveltaja!

The red light on the Vienna Key only indicates, that it is properly connected. Don't worry about that. It will never change to green. ;-)
Special Edition and Special Edition PLUS are both registered to your account.

Did you manage to open the Vienna Instruments player or Vienna Ensemble in Finale?
If yes and there were no patches available to load, maybe you should check your Directory Manager and add the path, where your libraries are installed.

Additionally I recommend getting the Finale Human Playback Preferences and Percussion Maps for the Special Edition at the following location:
    http://vsl.co.at/en/68/141/460/1603/1290.htm

Take a look at the readme file included. You might find some helpful information there.

    Best regards,
    Andi
