  • MIDI interface

Hi, I was just wondering if any of you in this forum could give me some advice on which USB interface would be good for lowering the latency between my MIDI keyboard and PC... As of now it's very difficult to record anything live as I'm usinga simple USB to MIDI cable, which produces a lot of latency... I looked at Focusrite Saffire and Tascam, because they were cheaper and I won't be record audio through it... Any recommendations, hints?

  • Hi

I'm working with the 2Port-Midi-Interface of Cakewalk UMG2:

    http://www.cakewalk.com/Products/UAUM/UM2G.asp

I can't make out any latency. (With advanced midi function)

for 32 and 64 Bit systems.

A 3Port Interface available as well...

    Best

  • Here's another idea:

I'm now using a Presonus Firestudio Mobile.  The sound is very good for such a small unit, and since it is Firewire, you can cut the latency way down.  I've used lots of MIDI interfaces in my MIDI life, including the Digidesign 002 rack.  I don't do any live things, except my own voice once in a while.  The Presonus unit is a relatively new model, and worth checking out.
