  • What am I doing wrong?

I have preserved my instance on my Mac Pro (the host machine) but when ever I open a new project, it opens a new instance on top of it. None of my satellite machines do this - just the host.

I'm sure it's user error but I have to force quit VEPro, start it again and then re-connect. A bit annoying.

    I'm running SL 10.6.3 and DP7.02.

    Thanks in advance!

  •  Hmmmm. When you saved the project was the instance preserved?

  • Hey DG,

    Yes...

  • OK, so when you open the server interface, do you see the locally preserved instance there as well as the new one? If so, can you disconnect from the new one and re-instate the old one?

I'm only guessing, because i open and re-open projects all the time using only local (not networked computers) and I never see this. The only time I get the possibility of a new instance is if I open a brand new project and then load an instance of VE Pro. it then gives me the choice between a new one or one of the previously preserved ones.

  • Okay, so I got it to do it's "thing"....

I opened a project and even though I had the preserved instance up and going, it opened a new instance - it told me I couldn't delete because it was still "connected." I went to DP, disconnected, and that enabled me to get rid of the new instances. However, when I opened the the plug-in to connect the the preserved instance, it was no longer in the list. All that was there was "localhost [32] (new)"...once again, I have to quite VEP to get it to show up in the plug-in list.

    Hope that makes sense...

  • I've had this happen as well, I'm not sure what causes it but, I delete the instance in the host (Cubase 5) and then add it back and it usually sees the correct instance.
