VE3 What is saved with metaframe and what is saved with project?

    Hi Vienna (paul)

Please be specific as to EVERYTHING that saving "project" saves. Shouldn't saving a "project" save any and ALL tweaks to all plug-ins / instruments loaded? I seem to be having some trouble with this. My Arturia minimoog is not remembering the program it was on...Also sometimes I end up not being able to switch programs on various synths....Largo / Moog / Jupiter8.

  • I emailed Paul directly because I was having some of the same issues with VE PRO. Unless I misunderstood him, saving a viframe should save everything (including 3rd party settings) in the file and saving a metaframe should track any changes made to the metaframe and save any changes made to each individual instance of VE.

Also it would be nice to be able to "save" a viframe without having to do a "save as" first.  It is pretty easy to mistakenly overwrite an existing file.  Is this a bug or is it intentional?

  • Hi,

this is the same system like it is in any other application.... if you save a document within Word, it is being saved in the current state. You can always use "save as" (Command+Shift+S).

    Best,

  • Still...

I wish (and i'm not alone here) there would be a simpler, more intuitive way for saving recalling frames/metaframes,

ie. when loading a session (in Protools for example), the farme that was saved on last session - will be recalled.

As it is right now, i have to manually load that frame again, or else - i'm doing something wrong here.
