Hello everybody!
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide with your opinions! I am about to embark on a film score where I will be using my sample collection. The score will use mostly strings with a little bit of piano as well. The samples will actually be used for the final score as well (no live recording). I have the old generation of Orchestral Cube string samples. However, I really need a boost to my sound quality and have stumbled upon both the Appassionata (1) and Orchestral Strings (1+2).
I am at a loss as to which sample library to buy. On one hand I have the Orchestral strings that are more complete in terms or articulations/playing styles. However, buying both libraries will cost me around $3000. On the other hand Appassionata Strings require purchasing only one library which will cost me around $1300. Does anybody have experience with both enough to tell me if I could get by and create a decent sounding score with just the Appassionata strings? Does anyone have any complaints about either library that they think I should take into account? Really what I need are opinions from people who have experienced both libraries. Thank you so much!!
