  • A Few Preserve Questions

I have VE PRO up and running pretty well but I'm a little confused about exactly how preserve works.  Here's my workflow:

    1.  Launch the VE PRO servers on my slave and my master

    2.  Load the template metaframes into each server

    3.  Launch my DP file which automatically connects to each VE instance

    4.  Make any necessary changes to the VE PRO instances and save the sequencer file.

Here's where I get a little confused.  If I have the preserve icon activated on every local and slave instance for quicker switching in between projects.  The slave instances (which are all vienna instruments) don't unload the instances once there disconnected from DP, when I launch another sequencer file that uses the same VE PRO instances I can click on load plug settings and after 10 seconds or so all of the settings in the VE PRO instance are updated to reflect the last saved state of the sequence file.  If I change something like a simple pan setting on one of the local instances (which are all K3.5), when I load another DP file and click on load plug settings, all of the ram gets purged and reloaded.  The changes in the sequence file are reflected but it takes like 4 minutes to load.  Does the preserve function work differently on slave vs. master?  Does it have something to do with Kontakt's memory server? All of the VE plug instances are coupled btw.
