    If I wasn't here right now and saw with my own eyes, I wouldn't believe what I'm about to report.

    I'm working on a sequence in Logic on a Mac Pro with 16GB.  I have six instances of VE-Pro loaded and still have 5.05 GB Free according to the Activity Monitor of which I took a screen print of.  I've been working on this sequence for a couple of days and have not loaded any additional instruments.  The six instances are linked using the Metafile and the programs are links and saved through the Logic sequence.

    All of a sudden, VE-Pro disappeared from the screen -- All six instances including the Server Window.  I have three 30" monitors.  Four were displayed on the left screen, the center has my sequence window, two on the top of the right screen with my Logic mixer at the bottom.  

    I brought up the Activity Monitor and it shows Vienna Ensemble Pro loaded with 5.72 GB real memory and 2.98 GB Virtual memory.  I tried playing the sequence and it continues to work.  I saved the Logic Sequence and exited Logic.  I then reloaded Logic and the sequence.  The connections were re-established and played liked before.  Still no sign of the VE-Pro Interfaces.

    I captured the Activity Monitor screen in order to send to the VSL team.  Not sure if there is anything else I can get before I reboot the machine.  Any Ideas?

    I just sent the Activity Monitor Capture to Paul & Maya....

     Do you mean the VE Pro project files (viframe)? If so, just double click the instances in the VE server and they will re-appear.

    I'll try clicking on the metafile.  What I mean is everything disappeared but is still playable and in memory.

    OK DG, that did brought it all back.  What's up with that?  Any ideas?

    The thing is, Chuck, that you can close the VE Pro project windows, you can close the server interface and close the VE Pro server, all without any problems in playback. You can get them all to re-appear as well, so I'm still not sure which one you are talking about.

    Its supposed to happen, but you probably did the command for close, rather than minimising them.

    DG,

    I didn't close anything.   I was editing my sequence at the time.  Is there a key combination that would close everything in VE-PRO including the server interface window?  I'm wondering if while I was working in the sequence, some command or key combination caused this.  It may be only related to Logic work flow if you know what I saying.

    No, I swear......   I wasn't even working in the screens (2 of them)  where VE-PRO was displayed.  I was diffidently in Logic editing in the piano window when it happened.

    Anyway DG,

    Thanks for the quick response.  It kept me from having to reboot and wait for 15 minutes or so.  Also your response showed me what to do if it happens again.

    For what it's worth....  I am using four Screen Sets in Logic which over-lay the VE-PRO windows.  I've been using them right along with no issue but maybe there is something there related.  Although, when VE-PRO disappeared, I was not at the time changing from one screen set to another.  I was clearly editing a note duration in the piano roll.

    It makes sense what you are saying DG about the VE-PRO Windows closing -- it's just that I didn't do it.  I'm thinking maybe something between VE-PRO, and Logic (possible the screen sets) my be the culprit.
