  • VE Pro-Superior Drummer. Any way to audition grooves at host tempo?

I am testing VE Pro as an AU plugin with various VI's on a Mac Pro running 10.5.7 and Logic 8.02. Everything seems to work very well indeed. Great work! But is it possible to set VE Pro up with Logic whereby it can receive the host's tempo setting? I miss not being able to audition grooves in this manner. Thanks in advance....

  • This is not a direct answer but a possible workaround. What I do is use EZplayer pro on my host.

  • Hi Steelkat, and welcome [:)],

    thanks for your nice feedback!

The tempo of you host is synced with VE PRO when used as a plug-in, but IĀ“m afraid I canĀ“t test with Superior Drummer here. Anybody else having the same problem? ThereĀ“s no MIDI clock sync (yet) with the VE PRO standalone version, but itĀ“s on the list.

    Best,

    Paul

Thanks for the reply. Can you elaborate on how you set that up?

Thanks Paul! Hmmm...so from what you are saying VE Pro should pick up the tempo from Logic? Doesn't seem to want to do it for me for some reason. I'll try some more...

  • I believe logic has to be playing your arrangement in order to send tempo data. Try playing your song and auditing loops while its playing.

Thanks for the reply. Can you elaborate on how you set that up? Basically, I just use Superior 2 as a sample player (in VE Pro) and trigger the samples from EZplayer Pro on my main DAW. This is the way you had to do it untill 2.1 because Superior didn't have an internal midi player.
