  • Saving Master Tuning Info

    Hi

I have a setup in Special edition Im using on a project which will eventually be recorded in europe so everything is tuned to A443. However when I reload the VSL patches having saved the matrixes off with th 443 tuning set in the mast tune, they always pop up agasin at 440 which is extremely irritating. Any ideas?

  • Hmm! This seems peculiar to me.  When you load up a matrix, they will always default to 440 and I don't know if there is a way to change the default.  However, if you are using Vienna Ensemble, You should be able to save your project in whatever tuning you want.   For example, due to the fact that VSL doesn't make a 2nd Violin section, I just reload the violins in another VI instance and slightly change the tuning by a cent or two.  I then save my strings as a template (Save + Save Project As, etc.)  When I bring the project back up, the 2nd Violins show the slightly different tuning.

Are you working in Vienna Instruments or Vienna Ensemble?

  • Not at the moment as we need to mix VSL and other libraries on the same machine and Plogue and Ensemble don't mix. We have a second rig with VSL Ensemble Pro on but its early days before we jump ship onto that completely.  It's slightly irritating that the master tuning is not saveable unless I'm missing something. I can't be the only person recording in Prague!

  • .....actually it appears to be slightly inconsistent. Sometimes it does load with the saved tuning and other times everything's back to 440 again. Maybe its a VSL vs Plogue thing
