  • VSL SE Plus - control over legato/legato-sus.

    Hello everyone,

It seems that every time I enter a slur in a wind instrument in Sibelius 6, the legato-sus patch is always being triggered, regardless of the note's length. As the V-span is being controlled by CC1, I tried to insert a technique text (~C1,0/~C1,127) to switch manually whenever i wanted to but with no success. In addition, I cannot use the speed in the V-span, as it will affect all other patches in the matrix.

I would like to have some control between the two (legato/legato-sus), as the legato patch sounds better in short phrases. Any ideas?

P.S. In the dictionary I see only legato and not legato-sus, should this information helps.

  •  Hi Raoul!

Your idea with the MIDI control data (~C1,0/~C1,127) was good, but if this information gets sent at the same time as the "slur-information", it is overruled. So you could use that with the second (or later) note of a legato phrase.

If you generally prefer legato over legato-sus, you could also switch the two legato patches in your matrix. Don't forget to save your playback configuration after that.

    Best,
    Andi
