Pentium-D 3.20 running VE PRO loaded with 7.5GB of samples.
Core i7 920 with 12GB DDR3 RAM running Cubase 5 as master computer.
M-Audio PCI Delta 2496. I don't know why, but I can't seem to get an acceptable latency without pops and clicks. VE pro 0x buffer size is only possible when m-audio is 4096 samples buffer size (huge). I can run at 64 samples with VSTs that are on the core i7 computer, but running at that rate with VE Pro is impossible. I'll get MIDI notes that get stuck and distortion.
Shouldn't my i7 920 be fast enough to run at these latencies? Is this due to my soundcard? I've tried changing to 96KHz but in the end its still in the 30-60ms range.
