  • Huge timing problems with VEpro in Logic 9.02 (Solved)

    Hi,

I have a timing problem with midi tracks, that are NOT record enabled, these tracks play with a huge delay. When I "activate" this track by hitting the red R, everything is fine. I tried it with all three latency modes. Any ideas ? I'm using Logic 9.02 connected to VSL Ensemble pro on an I7PC , 10.5.8 Dual quad Core 2008 w 16 GB Ram regards, kosi

  •  Dear kosi.me,

please set the "Process Buffer Range" to "medium" in Logic. You´ll find this setting in Preferences/Audio/Devices/CoreAudio.

    /Regards,

  • Hello Maya,

    thanks for the quick answer.

the process buffer already was set to medium, so I put it to small, which helps a little, now the timing is kind of workable, but far from perfect. I found some info about the "process buffer range" here

In my case, the unwanted delay affects all instruments in VE pro, not only Kontakt, also VSL Instruments are late...

You should reproduce this very easy.

I do negative delay the midi tracks in prefs /midi /sync now, but unfortunately now my Gigastudio plays too early, ( but I don't need it not so often, thanks to VE pro, so I can work )

  • You need to make the track "live" all the time.  Insert the i/o plug and it will stay live.  This will cause more load on Logic, but that is the trade off.

  • Yep, that's it !

Thanks alot , dlpmusic :) this gave me some serious headaches !

btw:  you can leave the I/O plugin in standby

  • I have the same problem. Altering latency in midi instruments. Could you please explain what you mean by "leaving the ı/o plugin in stanby" please? I don't know the terms very well so i couldn't understand it.

    Thanks.
