HI,
In logic 9 I can only find VE Pro 4 as a server plug. Problem is I need it to run on my one computer. Any ideas?

Paul,
Just curious -- is there a way that you know of to use a single instance of VE-PRO with Logic 9 and have more than 16 channels available? In Cubase and Pro Tools, one can use multiple MIDI ports and assign 16 channels each. I haven't found a way in Logic to do the same other than create multiple instances of VE.
Am I missing something or is that a limitation of Logic?
Hello Chuck,
there have been quite a few discussions about this here on this forum.
AU is limited to 1 port, whereas VST3 and RTAS can give you 8 ports. If you want to use additional MIDI ports, like IAC busses or external MIDI, you can add them, but one problem remains: There is no latency compensation for these additional MIDI ports.
Best,
Paul
One other thing Paul,
I've used IAC busses in stand-alone mode, but am I correct in saying that in Logic, if you use AIC busses to drive MIDI that you have to use a stand-alone version of VE only and loose the audio link within Logic? The latency you speak of then is related to the audio route back into logic using a 3'rd party app? I just want to be sure my assumptions are correct.
