  • Windows 7 settings for MIR

In the past for Windows XP you could do a ton of tweaks (stop services, change priorities etc, set windows to performance mode, turn off windows sounds etc).  I am just getting up to speed with Windows 7 and was wondering if you had a few performance tips to gain the most from the PC.

I already have it setup for performance mode, turned off windows sounds and a few other basic things but one that I really need to know is in Windows XP it was best for audio DAW's to have windows seting priority to "Background Services".  Is that definitely still the case for MIR setup or should it be setup for "Applications"?

Any other advice is much appreciated.  I have nothing installed but Windows 7, MIR, VE Pro and Ensemble 3 (for all my current projects and incase MIR has problems it gives me a work around) and VSL samples.  Windows 7 is on one drive, MIR and the reverb files on another drive and my samples on a 3rd drive.
