    I swore off of WIndows after fighting with Giga for years but I decided to jump back in with an i7 machine to host vienna instruments and maybe PLAY.  I'm getting ready to do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit and I was wondering if there's any tweaks to the OS to get the most out of a system running VE PRO, kinda like what Tascam released with XP machines for Giga?

    Which version of WIN7 would you recommend for professional music use? I'm currently using Remote desktop on XP Pro to control my slaves. Are the networking features in WIN7 Home Premium unsufficient? Does Pro and Ultimate have features that are either necessary or just recommendable when talking proper dedicated multi-computer music production, or is it just paying more for totally unuseful stuff like cool desktop savers?

    You don't need ultimate. Go with the Pro version. This one is designed for business use and has all necessary network features. I tried vpro with win7 pro x64. Works great. I had some grafical glitches but that may be the graphics driver. Remotedektop from a Mac to the win 7 PC did work also.
