  • Is there a tutorial for the VE Pro?

I'm still using VIs the old-fashioned way. Is there a tutorial or a bunch of threads about how the VE works, in detail?

  • Some additional video tutorials will be helpful. Showing more of the operational details, workflow,  and setting up of VE-Pro with various hosts on both Mac and PC.

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

I´ll do my best to create more videos. Please let me know what you´d like to see in detail / what´s not clear.

There are quite a few possible workflows, and many possibilities with different hosts and slaves.... but the basic system is always the same:

Start the VE PRO Server, insert VE PRO as a plug-in in your sequencer - connect.

I´d love to be of help, but I´m not sure which information you are missing... then again, every new software needs a little time to get used to, right?

    Thanks for your input!

    Best,

    Paul

  • Hi Paul,

I have not yet purchased VE-Pro yet, but,  I will do so as soon as you release the next VE-Pro update, which will hopefully fix the VE-Pro with 'PLAY issue, on both Macs and PCs.

Meanwhile, I briefly read the VE-Pro pdf user manual, and watched the current video tutorials, but I still feel a bit confused with the whole setup, concept, and workflow.

    So...

Some more detailed tutorials, showing general workflow of the system, and the setup procedure for i.e Logic Pro 9, and Cubase 5, and on slave a computer.

Possibly,  a 'Step-by-Step' style videos (that don't rush through the explanation) would be very helpful. i.e.  Automation related details, latency settings, Using VE-Pro as a stand-alone instance/s on the master computer to host VST/AU instruments (not as a plug-in inside a DAW) what this offers, and why would I need to do this ? ...etc,  this is a bit confusing.  Also some detailed examples showing how to setup VSL VIs, and other third-party instruments, such as Kontakt 3.5, Stylus RMX, FM8, with VE-Pro in LP9, Cubase 5, and other popular DAWs.

    THANKS

  • +1 for more detailed tutorials !

The Tutorials for VE Pro do have more the character of comercials presenting the features quickly. The style of the VE 3 Tutorials are much better for learning while the VE Pro Videos are more like a features overview. Only the music in the background and the speed of explanations are not Tutorial-like. This would be my wish reagarding a more Tutorial-like style.

The Features I'd love to have explained is

    - Which Settings in the Main OSes (Mac OS X 10.6 and Windows 7) and the Main Sequencers Cubase and Logic would be recomended optimal
    - Buffer Settings, Multicore-Settings (of Cubase, VE Pro, and Kontakt Instances)
The Priorities should be stability (on 1st place), playability & accessability (on 2nd place) and Performance (as 3rd priority) for the Pro.
    - It shouldn't necessarily go into detail about which huge and flexibel possibilities we have but more present a few good solutions which< br=""> takes us away the headache of experimenting with buffer / latancy / mulicore settings etc.
    - A crucial thing to explain is how to get the easiest way of having a Template accessable with the fewest possible step. The usage of
Decouple, Preserve and Metfarame is abvious in sense of flexiblity but which is the easiest way to go?
    - A Step by Step Guide when to lounch what chronologically, when to decouple what and how to recall an entire session (involucrating slaves) because I'm still experimenting with this and it is not exactly clear to me

In a few words it's cool to be in a Sub Way Store were you can choose which bred you would like to have, which sauce and which ingredients but for the Pro User its always even more APRECIATED to go to a 1st class restaurant were the meal and the wine to drink is just recommended ! Always on the search of the "No brainer" or the "way to go without headache" (=
