  • VE Pro as a Plugin

Hello Everybody, first: I am windows User (XP32 and Vista64). My Sequencers are Nuendo and Cubase. Can I use the VE Pro as a Plugin? on 32Bit XP? On 64 Vista and Cubase 64 Bit? On Vista 64 and Cubase 32 Bit? Is VE Pro starting its own Task (in PlugIn-Mode)? The videos and descriptions on this website talking about master/slave-modes. Can I really use the VE Pro Server on my HOST-Computer? And what about the settings? When I set up my instruments in VE Pro an do all the producing and Composition in Cubase... is the setup saved with my session-file? What about automation? How do i exchange audio and midi-data between Cubase and VE pro? Sorry but i am a bit confused about that... Cheers Florian

    Hi and welcome Tonkutsche,

yes, VE PRO will work fine on one computer with your Cubase.

Check it out yourself: Order the free demo license and download it to your Steinberg Key!

    Best,

This is exactly what I do. Here is how it works (with either 32bit server or 64bit server or both):

    1. Start the VE Pro server
    2. Click Preferences
    3. makes sure that Advertise on local network is checked
    4. Start Nuendo
    5. Load an instance of VE Pro into the VST rack
    6. When the server interface comes up click connect. You should then see the IP of your PC in the available slaves window
    7. Click this and close the window
    8. You are now good to go.

Just pretend it is a normal VSTi and it should work the same way as usual. However be aware that you will have to click the VE button (bottom left) in the server interface if the VE Pro GUI is not showing.

  • Free Demo License? Quit a good joke! Why? I've got ONLY trouble with your product. EVERYTIME I try to start, thre is an Syncrosoft-Error. EVERYTIME. But in the eLicenser (Version of today) it counts down the starts. There are only 26 starts left (from 30) and no tests could be done, because EVERY Start gives me an Syncrosoft-error. I am VERY interestet in VE Pro and I WILL buy it, if i can test this piece of software an it fit my needs, but so? I spend one or 2 hours for NOTHING, please help! Cheers Florian

  • Make sure that the key sits directly on a USB-port or a powered hub, not on a passive hub.

If you run out of demo starts, just open the Licence Control Center application (with the key plugged in, of course), and reload "new"starts ("Datumslizenz aktivieren"). This will work throughout the whole demo-period.
