I was wondering what the resource hit is for multiple stereo VE Pro servers vs a single multi-channel server? For example, in Logic it was perfectly acceptable to load 10 Kontakt instances each with a single instrument, as their was no additional CPU hit and the additional RAM usage was minimal. Does Vienna Ensemble Pro work in a similar fashion, where if running multiple stereo instances in Logic is comparable to loading a single multi-channel instance?
I'm well aware of the current 8 server instance limit (I've read they're looking into increasing this limit), meaning my above method would potentially yield a whopping 8 instruments :-) but in compositing situations where I do not need a "kitchen sink" template, the easier routing of using single VE pro instances looks very attractive as long as it doesn't cause too much additional strain. Thus my post.
