    Can someone confirm this (un)compatibility ?

    I'm on Vista Home Premium 64 and am running the 1st tests after install

    In the VE Pro setup window (VST), I did register both my Sonar 8 vst plugin folders (the one in Programs folder, and the one in Programs x86 folder), and they do appear in the list.

    Yet, in this 64bit version, when I click the Send popup menu, I cannot see any of the 32bit plugs, just the native 64.

    Does it mean that I have to use the 32bit VE Pro version (in my 64bit OS of course)  if I ever want to use 32bit plugs ? I was under the impression that there was some kind of 32 bit "bridge.....

    Then, what about RAM limitation in 32 bit mode ? Will 32bit VE Pro have some clever way to allow the use of more than 4Gb of ram ?

    Yes.

    Of course you can run both the 32bit and 64bit server at the same time. However, you will be limited to just under 4GB RAM in total for the 32bit plugs.

    Of course, I'm (slightly) disapointed, since I have many 32bit plugins, but I will live with it.

    Hopefully, a future update will integrate 32bit hosting....

    I would imagine that it will be the other way round. As time goes on the 32bit plugs will become a thing of the past. Time to hassle the other developers to provide 64bit versions, I think.

    You're perfectly right, many (good) developers are slow to go 64bit.

    Not being a developer myself in any way, I have no idea how hard it is to "translate" an otherwise solid 32bit code into 64. So I will not throw a stone to anyone.

    Nor do I have an idea on hard it is to conceive a "bridge" a la Sonar, able to host 32bit software into an 64bit app.

    But indeed it will be great when everybody cracks this nut and is able to offer both versions !
