Hello Nicholas, and welcome
You can indeed utilize all the RAM you have available with VE PRO, if you are using 64-bit virtual instruments like our own Vienna Instruments, Kontakt 3.5/4 or Omnisphere.
With 32-bit instruments, the "old" limit still applies.
I´d say: Check out VE PRO with a free demo license. All you need in addition is a USB eLicenser like the ViennaKey or a Steinberg Key, to store your license on.
Our videos about VE PRO should also be helpful!
Best,
Paul
Okay Paul and others, please help me understand how to get access to all of my ram. I don't mean to be stupid, but I am still a bit confused. First off,I have finally been able to "connect" Cubase5 32bit to VE PRO 32 bit. I have a pc with 8gigs of ram,so,IF I run C5 does VE Pro run outside of C5? If so,then I can access the 3-3.5 gigs from Cubase and then will VE Pro 32 bit have access to the other approx 4 gigs on my system?(I am on Vista 64). The thing that seems silly/confusing to me is the comment that you made about using 64 bit vsti's such as Kontakt 3.5/4 and others b/c couldn't you just run these natively in C5 64 bit? Why would we need a synced server to achieve this goal? I obviously have many 32 bit fx plugs,as most of us do,so it would be nice to be able to use the setup that I just mentioned,IF VE PRO has it's own 4 gig access.
So,what combination should I use to access most or all of my ram?:
C5 32 bit with VE Pro 32 bit,
C5 64 bit with VE Pro 32 bit,
C5 64 bit with VE Pro 64 bit(this one seems to be the least likely since VE Pro will only recognize 64 bit plugs),
or perhaps some other combination that I am completely missing.
Thanks again,
luces
