  • VEPro and Kontakt 3.5 64 bit

Ok, so I have figured out how to load up a multi-timbral instrument in Logic and get midi over to my slave PC in up to 16 midi channels.

what I can't figure out is how to get more than one stream of audio back to logic from any one instance of Kontakt while running in VEPro??

Is this possible or do you just have 1 stereo pair of audio that you can use?  I KNOW I can load up another instance of Kontakt on another channel in VEPro and then select a different Master bus channel to send to Logic.  My question is if I have several different instruments loaded up in (1) instance of Kontakt, can I send audio to Logic on more than one stereo channel.  So far all I can send audio to logic on is one stereo pair.

    thx

It is explained on page 21 of THE MANUAL

  • I think perhaps you missed the point of my post.

What I'm asking is on my slave if I load up a Kontakt instance I seem to only be able to route one (1) stereo channel back to Logic on my mac.  The VE3Pro instance seems to have a master bus and Kontakt can only route audio on this one bus.  This means that for every stereo audio channel I want to use I have load a completely new VE3Pro server application.

I don't think page 21 address this problem at all.

Try it.  load up kontakt and then load several different instruments into (1) one instance of Kontakt.  Now try to route the audio from the different instruments back to another computer on different audio channels... You can't, the only channel that is available is (1) stereo channel.  You can pick which ever one you want but only 1

    thx

  • have you ever worked with live? i think it is explained in the manual, although i hardly read it because the routing works the same as in live: you add an audio input. you select a kontakt output as the input for that channel. you route that input channel to another output than the main.. that's all there is to it...

You can load more than one Kontakt instance in one instance of VE Pro though, and set a different Net port for the audio from each instance.

    DG.

  • I love VE Pro, but this is a routing feature that should be implemented.

I know that I could load many instances of Kontakt or Omnisphere or Stylus into the same instance of VE Pro. But why should I do like that, wasting an entire multitimbral plugin only for one instrument each.

VE Pro should be able to route different outputs of the plugin to different NET buses: I mean I should be allowed to route Kontakt output 1-2 to NET1/NET2, output 3-4 to NET3/NET4 and so on...

Otherwise, it's only a waste of CPU power and RAM.

  • havn't you read my post 3 posts up? it is implemented...

  • Oh, sorry... This makes absolutely sense! ;-)

Otherwise I was wondering how to implement it having a dropdownlist to choose an output from! [;)]

  • np :)
