I miss how when loading a Cubase project with Ensemble 2, it would just load everything automatically. Even when loading the VST plugin from scratch, it would automatically load Ensemble 2. Why does the user have to start the server separately now and establish the connection manually?

This is the way that VE3 has always worked. it is only a pain the first time you load a project. After that, providing that you do your housekeeping it shouldn't be a problem.

Q: Vienna Ensemble 2 server started automatically when instantiating the VE2 plugin in my sequencer. Why does this not work with VE Pro?
A: One of the major advantages of using VE Pro is that it allows to run the server on any slave computer in your network. Automatically starting a local server and connecting to this one might not be what the user want to do. In fact, the user might not even have a VE Pro license available on the local computer.
