I'm not clear about the system requirements: is it possible to have a PPC G5 running ProTools and  Intel Macs  running intances with VIs ?

    Thanks

  • Yes, this works. The connector plugin comes in the following formats:

    RTAS: 32-bit Intel, PPC

    AU, VST, VST3: 32- and 64-bit Intel, 32-bit PPC

The VE Pro server and standalone application actually comes as 32- and 64-bit for both Intel and PPC. However, we don't recommend anyone to use a PPC machine and will not actively develop for, nor support the PPC architecture for the future.

  • Thanks for responding. As I don't plan to upgrade my ProTools PCI cards to PCIe (upgrade price close to robbery) I will keep my G5 PPC for some time; sadly  it doesn't look like a good idea to get VE Pro as you don't plan to support the PPC architecture.

    Hi Martin ,

thanks for the current PPC support , even if it won't be developed any further.

This is more than we ( G5 users ) could actullay expect.

Thanks for all the efforts !!!

    Best wishes

  • Hi,

I have a problem with Vienna Ensemble Pro :

When I try to download East West Platinum instruments I have the error message : "The patch contains an invalid product index (-1): c:/users/seb/doc/test.ewi

I do not understand where the problem is because EastWest is working fine in this PC in standalone mode. The problem only happears in VE PRO.

Do you have any idea ?

    Thank you,

    Max

Yes. PLAY doesn't work properly with VE Pro at the moment. There is a workaround, but I can't remember what it is. Ether do a search here, or at soundsonline and you might be able to find out what it is.

  • Hi,

do you have a list of the compatible software? Do you know if project-sam is working fine?

    Thank you,

    Max

    Hi Max,

here is a preliminary list of compatible plug-ins. I will extend this list with further plug-ins, also with the help from our users and some bug-fixes from our development team.

  •  Paul,

I would like to use VePro on slave with the samples communicating with Sibelious on master PC via midi-over-lan.

Presently, while my Sonar on the Master PC is working OK with the VePro on the slave computer, my Sibelius on the Master PC does not see the VePro as a playback device. Is that because I haven't installed a VST plugin on the master? If so, how do I do that?

    Thanks,

    Jim Ferguson

  • this should be related to the file path where the VST plugin (the .dll) resides ... whereas sonar obviously has referenced this path sibelius may have not. this depends on the path you selected during installing VE PRO ... you should find some dialog in the sibelius preferences to point to the right location ...
