  • MIR performance on Older Computer - Core 2 Quad 2.4

What type of performance could I expect on this system?

    Core 2 Quad 2.4 Ghz / 8 gigs RAM

One Section (First Violins) One Section Group (Strings)

I know that this is to some degree a guess but I thought that I would ask in hopes that someone can lead me in the right direction. I am planning to "demo" MIR very soon and I will post results but I must first install Vista or Win 7

    Thanks for any input...

  •  this one is from a quadcore 3 GHz 8 GB RAM (DDR2 800) running Vista 64 (so subtract ~20% for 2.4 GHz
    cinebench: 13,135
    latency 256: 450 voices 96% CPU 13 instruments
    latency 512: 670 voices 98% CPU 18 instruments
    latency 1024: 800 voices 96% CPU 23 instruments

test running the *zara* MIR demo (22 Instruments) optimized, latency 1024: 82% CPU

test running *wondering why* MIR demo (16 Instruments) not optimized
    latency 256: 100% CPU (crackles
    latency 512: 72% CPU
    latency 1024: 63% CPU

    hope that helps, christian

edit: start with W7 - will save some headache ...

and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
  • cm,

    Thanks... This really helps.

  • cm, Jay and others-

With MIR is there an "offline bounce" ability if used as a plug-in with in the DAW on the same computer?

Was the Adventures On Earth demo done on a single computer or was MIR on a standalone computer?

    Thanks,

    Richard

There is no plugin version of MIR.
