Monitoring issue with Logic 8 and VE

Hey there, After a lot of testing I've discovered a curious problem. I can only hear what's coming out of my VE instances if they are record enabled.

The problem is that I shouldn't need to do that, and it's a pain in the ass to manually select the different tracks to get a playback everytime I hit play. For the life of me I can't figure out how to get Logic to just monitor everything normally. I've been living with this issue for a while now, Any ideas anyone?

Hey, What I do in Logic is first off I create separate instances of Vienna Instruments, so I DON'T use Ensemble. Then I go into Solo mode by hitting S and select the instruments I want to hear. Does this solve your problem? Or maybe you mean you want to play along with the other tracks and not necessarily record. It sounds like you are using Ensemble though, which I personally don't like to use in Logic. Hope this helps. -Pete

Sadly no .. that is not the problem. Or at least not the fix I'm looking for.

Somewhere along the line I've changed a setting in logic so that I have to manually enable record monitoring in order to hear sound from more than one source of VE. I use VE with Logic as a server .. not within logic.

Or do you use VE as a plug-in (with connector plug-in)?

Hi Maya. I'm using VE as a connector plugin on two slave machines. My G5 and my other Macbook Pro. As I said, I get this curious problem .. which I've not had before when using multiple VE's, where only one will sound at any time. And through experimenting I've noticed that the one that sounds .. is the one where I have a track selected .. thus it is automatically record enabled. All the other Logic VI's play fine, but VE is being selective over which one plays back.

I assume I've changed some setting somewhere in logic which is causing this .. but can't for the life of me figure out what. Any ideas?
