  • MIR instruments direction

In a previous answer to a post you said that the MIR horn direction must be that of the face of the player toward the audience seats like on an actual stage.

    Now I'm asking for violins.

In an orchestra the face of the violins player is toward the conductor but the body of the instruments is toward the audience seats.

So, how have we to direct the violins MIR instruments in an orchestra stage?

  • The principle of MIR's Instrument Icon is easy to explain: Just imagine its direction/volume-grabber is the players nose.

That said, I wouldn't slavishly adhere to the situation you would see on a real stage. Who knows - maybe the violins would sound better when they turn their backs towards the conductor ;-) ... just give it a try an listen what sounds best.

    Kind regards,
