  • div. with different dynamics in Logic

    Hi,
I have loaded a VSE+ horn matrix in a VI track of my Logic 8 project. I would like to play a chord / divisi so that one note is played louder than the other. I control expression with cc11, velocity crossfader with cc12 and volume with cc7. It seems that the velocities of the notes in Logic aren't taken into account.
Does it mean that I need to load a second horn patch into another VI on another instrument track to play that note with different dynamics?

  • Hello Denis!

If you are using Velocity Crossfade, the value of this setting is used for the whole Vienna Instruments instance. The same applies to the expression and volume faders.
So if you want to use different values for one of these controllers, you will also have to use multiple instrument tracks.

    Best,
    Andi

  • That makes perfect sense.
    Thanks for your response Andi.
