  • Hello Peter!

There is no such sound set yet, as it would be an elaborate task to create it and I'm not sure how many users out there would actually use it.

Mallets can be used easily without a sound set. For all unpitched percussion instruments there is a workaround to have all the articulations at hand without a sound set. Here is an excerpt of the "Optimizing Sibelius playback" manual you find in your User Area under Overview/Needful Things/Sibelius Sound Sets:

  • Hi Peter,

I have a Sibelius soundset available for the percussion library (DVD).

    Regards,
    Michel

  •  Michel

Are you able to send me a copy (using the contact button) ?

    Many thanks

    Peter

  • Hi Peter,

The contact button doesn't seem to work.

  •  Michel

Strange that. I've just tried again and the contact button on my first request gives the option to send an email

but the contact button lower down the page doesn't.

Anyway, my email address is pwalton at fsmail dot net

    Thanks

    Peter

  • Just out of curiosity (and as someone who is just embarking on an move from FInale to Sibelius) I wonder could I get a copy of this soundset too. Also is it difficult to create soundsets in Sibelius and is there a tutorial somewhere?

  • ditto... this would be a massive help for me. Any chance of getting a copy?

    thanks,

    J.

  • All you percussion fans out there might want to know, that there is an official sound set in the making, which should be finished in September.

  • Hi Andi,

Any updates on this? I could really use a DVD percussion soundset right about now! ;-)

    thanks,

    J.

  • Actually, does anybody have any clever tricks they can share about setting up general percussion stations in Sibelius and VE/VI? My main problem, at the moment, is setting up a staff with 3 suspended cymbals. Since all the cymbals available are single patches, I'd have to load each desired cymbal into a separate cell, then switch between them manually, I suppose. This seems pretty tweaky, to me... Any other tricks or suggestions for this kind of thing?

    thanks in advance,

    J.

  • Hello J.

The sound set is finished, but the manual has still to be written. Give me one more week. ;-)
