  • I dont like how Vienna Suite scrolls through presets, can I add my own folders instead?

    Hello everyone,

I find the scrolling in vienna suite to be kind of frustrating. First off, some of the folders have a TON of presets you have to scroll through (For example, open the EQ and go to the percussion, and you'll have to scroll through MANY presets before you get to the tam-tam). I love all the choices, dont get me wrong, but having them all in one folder can become a bit overwhelming. But more importantly, I'm finding it very difficult to get to the last presets in large lists. For example, there is a preset under the tam-tam resonance menu, but for whatever reason I cannot scroll down far enough to get to it! Ok, I'll admit I can EVENTUALLY get to it, but its not easy and takes a few seconds, which adds to my frustration.

One possible solution (besides re-doing the way VS scrolls) is to add my own folder structures to the Vienna Suite Presets. For example, instead of having all presets for all percussion instruments after the first "percussion" folder, I could create separate folders for each instrument: Timpani, Snare, etc, which should hopefully mean no scrolling, or at the very least less individual presets to scroll through. Plus since I created the folders, I know where everything is located and can get to the presets I want faster. Is this possible?

Also, I've tried adding folders to my user presets, but they do not function within the VSL plugin itself. For example, I have a few of my own violin EQ's that I tried putting into a folder called "violin EQ's," yet when I open VS EQ the folder shows up, but I cannot open it to access the actual presets I saved. The ability to add custom folder structures to organize our presets would be GREATLY appreciated!

Also, since I'm asking questions, how does one use the actual "presets" button at the top of each plugin? I click on that button and see "user" and "factory" subfolders, but there is nothing in them. I scanned the Vienna Suite manual and there is no mention of this function.

Let me end by saying THANK YOU VSL TEAM FOR CREATING VIENNA SUITE!! These presets are simply amazing and a great way to add variety to an already outstanding library! Thank you in advance for your help and reply!

  • I found the scrolling to be an issue as well. It's fine with just a few presets, but once you have a large amount, the scrolling does not want to behave as it should. I think the VSl team needs to take a look at it.
