  • Vista X64 VE3, VI serious issues

    Hi all,

We have a system with Vista Home Premium X64, VI/VE3.

After installing all the VSL and Syncrosoft software and launch the VI

it does the scan and then right before the GUI comes up we get an error

message with "Application Stopped working" and there is nothing we

can do except close the window and the VI goes away. There is

also some system dump info as well which looks like a bunch of

numerical strings. Nothing I can really make out.

    Anyone seen this before?

    Our computer configuration:

    CPU:  2.66 GHz Core i7

    Chipset: Intel X58

    RAM: 6GB DDR3/1366 (3 DIMMS)

                            12 RAM Slots

                             Vista Home Premium 64-bit

Hard Drive (OS): 500 GB Seagate Barracuda

Hard Drive (Audio):     1 TB GB Seagate Barracuda

    Video: Geforce 9500GT

Thanks in advance for your help!

  •  hmm, we had it running on an X58 board vista64 before we switched to windows7 with an RME multiface ...

btw: what audio device is installed and are the ASIO drivers ok? service packs applied?

you can try to delete all .ini files from C:\ProgramData\VSL\ except vsldirs1.ini (holding the sample data locations)

what strikes me is the 9500GT - lately we also had a GUI issue with older resp. windows buildt-in video drivers, please try to update.

in case the issue remains after having considered all from above please save the error report file (of the dump) and sand it to vsl support instead of microsoft - someone knowledgable will look through it.

    Hi cm,

    Thanks for your reply.

The interface we are using is HDSPeRayDAT from RME with the word clock module.

ASIO drivers look fine, and everything is up to date driver-wise.

This computer is a slave machine meant to send audio back to a Pro Tools HD rig

    on a Mac using VE3.

Here is the dump, I'll send it to support as well:
