I downloaded a MIDI file, and I'm playing it with Sibelius 6 and the Vienna Special Edition. Does anybody know how to remove (from several measures) unwanted Expression CC messages that are embedded in the MIDI file? Thanks.

Removing expression CC messages

Gary,
I'm not familiar with Sibelius (I use Finale), but you might find it easier to remove CC data with some sort of sequencer program (Sonar, Logic, etc). I find MIDI editting generally much easier in a sequencer than in Finale. You might even investigate Reaper (which I am presently using and enjoying for its customizability) as a low-cost sequencer. Although MIDI editting isn't its high point, it's easy enough to display, say, CC 11 (expression) and erase it.
I hope this helps. Let me know you need more information.

I have "View>Hidden Objects" on. I selected a bar containing expression info (I can tell because I can see it moving a slider in the Vienna Interface). I chose "Edit>Filter>Advanced Filter>Text>Containing ~".
It didn't work. Am I doing something wrong? Does anybody have any other suggestions?

With "View>Hidden Objects" on you can then select objects by simply clicking on them and then hit delete.
