  • Sibelius Vienna SE sound sets and Logic pro 8 (keyswitches)

     Hi,

Does anyone please know if using VSL SE sound sets in Sibelius and then exporting this composition as a midi file it will preserve keyswitches when opening, say, in Logic Pro 8? If so, which kind of midi file type (for there are Vienna SE types).

This way, one could spare time not inserting them.

    Thanks very much!!

  • Hi!

Yes, that's indeed possible. When you export a MIDI file with Sibelius you can do that based on your current playback devices, which means all keyswitches and control changes will also be included in the MIDI file.

  • Hi Andi,

    Thanks for your reply!

So does it mean that I only have to export as a midi file type 1 or must also export it as VSL SE or '+'?

    Best,

    Nuno

  • Hi Nuno!

Just exporting the MIDI as file type 1 will do.

  • Hi again Andi!

    Thanks very much!

This really saves up a lot of boring work. Just have to set new articulations on Sibeilus so that it may show up on the pop up menu.

I'll check Siibelius manual to learn, as advised by VSL.

    All best wishes!
