If you already own all the VSL lib, do you still need special edition plus to work comfortably with Sib? Or is this an option if you don't have all the lib?

Special Edition Plus question
-
see this thread above http://community.vsl.co.at/forums/t/21419.aspx there are now soundsets for virtually all the big DVD collections so you can use those with Sibelius as easily (almost) as using the Special Edition sounds set and lib.

Hi Guy,
I'm afraid I'm no expert with Sibelius 5 or VSL come to that [:$]- but I find that this works: -
Enter some notes....
click on a note (in a string part - Violin for example)
Press control and the letter "T" simultaneously (and a cursor appears above the note)
either right click and select "Arco" from the menus which appears) OR
just type in "Arco" (without the quotes of course) I think the case matters in some expressions
Press Escape key (twice I think)
Select another note somewhere after the first note
Press Control + "T"
either right click and select "pizz" or
just type in "pizz" and press escape(x2).
As long as you have the VSL library soundset file in the correct folder - in my case it's SE+ in
C:\Program Files\Sibelius Software\Sibelius 5\Sounds
and the articulations should play automatically when you play it back.
Things like slurs and staccatos seem to work ok - you can watch the patch window in the Vienna instrument to see the patches changing - I can't get the portamento to work so I think it's a bit temperamental yet!
Not sure if that's the kind of detail you wanted but I hope that helps.
Best wishes,
John
