  • Installing a new software

    Hello everybody,

I just discovered that there is a new Vienna Software (Vienna Instruments Software 2.0.3452 (Windows XP+VISTA, 32+64 bit). My question is: on my PC (WinXP Pro) I'm running the special edition (and the extended one) with a software version that is definetely older.

What do I have to do, to use the new one? Uninstall the old one first? Or do I need a brandnew installation? Or is this version just for a first install?

I'm a bit confused and appreciate definetely any help!

    Thank you!

  •  hello matthias,

you can do both - just install the newer version over the existing one (update) or uninstall the older one first (fresh install)

in both cases i'd recommend to have no Vienna Instruments open or loaded (close your audio host and kill any running vsl daemon from the processes first ... best reboot before)

no custom presets you have created would be deleted during an uninstall, also paths in the directory manager (to your sample content locations) should be kept
