  • Opening a file that uses download instruments, but opening it with access to the Symphonic Cube...

    Hi to the forum,

I just need some information on this if possible.

If I send a friend a Sibelius 5 file for them to open up in their Sibelius 5 software, and it's configuration file, and they have the symphonic cube, but I do not, but we do have other VI libraries in common, I am wondering about the following scenario.

The Sibelius 5 file that I send to  my friend [and it's play configuration file],  uses no files from the Actual symphonic cube, but uses files from libraries that we both have in common, for example lets say we both have the Orchestral strings 1/2, SE, and all of the patches in the Configuration/Vienna Ensemble file come from these libraries.

Because all of my files use patches that come from these, and we both have the same libraries, I am guessing that Vienna Ensemble will automatically load up the same patches that we have in common from the Sibelius Play Configuration file I have sent on to them.

But, what happens with patches that we both have, but both come from different libraries?

For example, if one of the patches I used in my file is a portato repetition patch from the download ww's library [which my friend may not have], will the Vienne Ensemble, [when it is loading up in my friends computer], seek out the same equivalent portato repetition patch in my friends Symphonic cube and load it up automatically, without the them having to load the portato repetition  patches in the Vienna Ensemble instruments particular cells manually?

Thanks if anyone has any knowledge about this.

    best,

    Steve.

  • Hello Steve!

Sharing a playback configuration should work without problems, if you use sound sets and collections you both have.
If you use equivalent patches from different collections, they will not be found and will have to be reassigned in the Playback Devices and loaded in Vienna Ensemble.

    Best,
    Andi
