  • PC dedicated for VSL

sorry i have some troubles seeking for recent posts about ram or cpu ...

i want to buy new computer dedicated for vienna. how much ram shall i use for what kind of drive or cpu ...
an easier way is maybe to say : i have 1.200 $ what shall i buy ?

does 12GB pc with windows xp64 make any sense ? will VSL be able to use them ?
shall i add 10000t/min drive or will 7400 do the same job ?

    all advices are welcome.

  •  add a few $$ and get an i7 system ... 12GB is fine, make sure all components have drivers for XP64, otherwise be content with VISTA64, VI / VE can use as much memory you have on PC, IMO 10.000 rpm drives are not critical, but the WD black are dammned fast ...

  • Question.  I have a similar situation.  I was looking at the Dell Xps 435 as a slave machine (Dell recently lowered the price).  My main computer, running Logic 8, is a 2.8ghz iMac, 4gb ram.  Will there be any issuses using my iMac with a slave machine? (I'm new to this whole process)
