  • Workflow Speed with MIR

I am just curious if you feel MIR will speed up the process of adding reverb to your instruments?  Right now I struggle so badly with every piece trying to get it just right using Sound Designer (and even then I never do achieve what I want) and am wondering if because of the unreal amount of effort you put into writing it, will it save me time and make my life simple as far as applying the reverb to my instruments and getting almost immediate desired results :)?

Or does the application actually have a steep learning curve to it?

I guess from my perspective it seems like some of this never stops.  First you over come the hurdle of learning how to use the Vienna interface (not only Vienna, this can apply to any sampler) and then realize you could have been using it even better to begin with (this happens more then once).  However it was and is a large learning curve to get it all right.  Then getting over the curve of your DAW and it's limitations.  Then we introduce the idea of EQ'ing the instruments, Panning them, stacking them etc (this introduces a ton of tremendous learning curves).  All of which one change can completely ruin the sound of all the work you've done.  My concern is the amount of time per piece and how to achieve the absolute fastest workflow process and there really doesn't seem to be much good information on this.  Variables change (DAW's, CPU's, Total Memory, OS etc) I realize, but it can be quite discouraging and over whelming to the person who has less then years of experience on this stuff and a less then ideal schedule.  We really do need a working area where we share our templates and files for the Different DAW's etc.

Would love to hear your honest opinion on whether MIR will add more time to the over all process but yield better results, or will it speed up the entire process and the improved results are just a bonus.  You guys do amazing things and no matter how discouraged I get sometimes, you keep me coming back for more.
