  • Headphone Reccomendation

My lovely Beyerdynamic DT-150's are busted. They lasted 4 years and were kick ass!

Now, I need a new pair of headphones. Any reccomendations? I am looking for a really good pair of headphones.

I cant audition many headphones here as they are not available in shops. I will just have to order a pair on the internet.

But i tried the Beyerdynamic DT-880 pros and found them a bit too bright for my taste and the panning sounds weird after switching from DT-150.

    Please Advice.

    Best,

    Tanuj.

  • Hi Tanuj,

for me the Sennheiser HD 600 makes a very good job, because it sounds quite "naturally" to say so. For me they are perfect for mixing, but I don't do especially classic music, rather rock. I don't know if the HD 600 is also right for you. Before I had some Beyerdynamic DT 880 M, which had a very strong bass. When I mixed with the DT 880 M it sounded nice, but when I listened to my mixdown on a different sound system (on my mp3-player for example) my mixdown sounded quite "bass-less". So the HD 600 suits better for me.

    Have a nice evening!

    Jonas

  • Sennheiser HD650 - generally if a mix sounds good on these it won't reveal any nasty surprises on anything else!

  • Ultrasone 900s!  Tried the HD650s but found them to tight on my head.  Also I find the Ultrasone's more neutral across the bass, middle and high-end.  Also great for mixing and putting instruments just where you want them.

  • Give a try to the Sony V6. They sound amazing! Killer bass and high range and balanced! :)
