  • SE+ advanced artics

Is there a list of the soundIDs for the advanced artics in the SE+ soundset? I'm interested in choosing between regular staccato and performance staccato etc. SE+ plays just the performance staccato by default and I'd rather not use custom matrices. Is there a way I can have access to all of the SE+ articulations within sibelius?

  • I second that!

  • You can download the Sound Set Editor from the Sibelius website for free. When you open the sound set with it and go to the Switch Types section, you get a list of all Instrument groups and their Sound IDs.

The perf-rep staccato (or spiccato) gets played by default for staccato notes, because it sounds more natural with repeated notes. If you want the staccato patch instead, there are two ways:

1.) With Patch Assign load the staccato patch in the cell, where the performance repetition is located. In this case all staccati will be played with the staccato patch instead of the perf-rep.

  • Thanks Andi, However, how do you know what the Keyswitch is for each patch. In to orchestral violins it looks like Keyswitch 24, C1, is already used for pizzicato.

  • You find the keyswitches with the Sound Set Editor. Just do as written in my previous post. Orchestral Strings/Pizzicato has keyswitch 30 (F#1) by the way.

  • what about winds perf-legato? There is only one soundID. +legato...what does keyswitch 27 mean. If I knew how the keyswitch numbers worked I could configure it myself

  • Keyswitch 24=C1, 25=C#1, 26=D1, ...
You see this information in the Sound Set Editor anyway. Just click on "Keyswitch [xx]" or add one.
